Longmont, Colorado is a fast growing citywith a small town feel situated at the base of the Rocky Mountains, with 300 days of sunshine and spectacular views of snow capped mountains. Longmont sits at an elevation of 4,979 feet above sea level and is located in Boulder County. Longmont has a population of 87,000 people, more than 1500 acres of parks and open space and draws visitors from all over the world.
Longmont's central location along the Front Range offers climbing, skiing, camping, cycling, fishing, golfing, hiking and shopping in town or a short drive away. Longmont has three municipal golf courses for your enjoyment: historic Sunset Golf Course, breathtaking Twin Peaks, and the Robert Trent Jones II designed Ute Creek. Each course offers challenging and interesting layouts for golfers of all skill levels. Longmont is centrally located 40 minutes from Denver International Airport, 12 miles from downtown Boulder and less than an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park.

After breakfast, take a walk at Rogers Grove, the beautiful Golden Ponds nature area, or McIntosh Lake. Pack a picnic and head out to Union Reservoir for a fun day of swimming, sailing or camping, with its breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains.
If you prefer to ride, you can rent a bicycle and enjoy the many trails meandering through town, the St. Vrain Greenway, Lefthand Greenway, Oligarchy Greenway, or the Rough & Ready Greenway. These trails are graced with cottonwood trees and willows, blue herons, sparrow hawks, hummingbirds, downy woodpeckers, killdeers, and mourning doves. Be on the lookout for red fox, rabbit, golden mantled ground squirrel, raccoon, coyote or prairie dog. Longmont is almost a mile high so remember to drink plenty of water as you enjoy your ride.
Take a break in Longmont's historic downtown area for a cup of coffee or a micro-brew at one of our outdoor patios located on Main Street. Take in the public art, galleries, and specialty stores in the area. Visit St. Stephens Church which is now home to the St. Vrain Historical Society and the delightful plaza next door. Pick up a walking tour map at their office. The society owns and operates many of Longmont's historic properties, including Hover Home, the Hover Farmstead, and Old Mill Park. Enjoy the afternoon walking the east and west side historic neighborhoods, with their grand architecture, beautiful rose gardens, and city parks.
The Longmont Museum & Cultural Center is a wonderful facility offering art history and cultural activities. While there be sure to pick up an events calendar.
