Pumpkin Patch Festivals and Corn Maze
Denver Botanic Gardens Pumpkin Patch Festival (Oct 6 – 8)
In Littleton, celebrate fall at the Denver Botanic Garden’s Chatfield Farms’ Pumpkin Festival. Guests enjoy picking out pumpkins from the 10-acre pumpkin patch, live music, food trucks, beer and wine vendors, an antique tractor exhibit, a corn maze, barrel train rides, carnival games, and many other family activities.
Diana’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze – Canon City (Sep 26th – Oct 31st)
In Canon City, locals know to hit Diana’s Pumpkin Patch opening on September 26th. Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to the general public through October 31st. Pumpkin patch and corn maze fun followed by s’mores and hot cider by the fire pit. The oldest corn maze in Fremont County features a different theme, game, and layout every year. The hay slide and duck races are always a big draw. Enjoy the fall festival fun on weekends from September 23rd-October 31st.
Colon Orchards Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze – Canon City (Sep – Oct 31st)
Visit the Arkansas River Valley’s Colon Orchards for two corn mazes, hayrides, and pumpkin picking. The fourth-generation family-run farm also offers a market with local fruit, vegetables, farm-raised beef, and a plethora of Colorado products, spanning honey to jams, caramels to cookies.
Anderson Farms – Erie (Sep – Oct 31st)
Anderson Farms is practically an institution in the Front Range. With a corn maze, hay rides, pumpkin patch, plenty of great food, private campfire sites, playgrounds, pedal karts, and more, it’s a great way to celebrate fall with family and friends.
Cottonwood Farm – Boulder/Lafayette (Sep 28th – Oct 31st)
At Cottonwood Farm, you can take a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, or visit the fall market for a selection of pre-picked pumpkins, squashes, and beautiful fall decor.
Studt’s Pumpkin Patch – Grand Junction (Sep 28th – Oct 30th)
Many pumpkin patches offer hay rides, but Studt’s pulls theirs by horse! They also have corn mazes, pony rides, and a massive selection of pumpkins, from very small to very giant, and every variety from classic orange to white and green.
Moon Farm and Pumpkin Patch and Petting Zoo – Fruita (Sep 28th – Oct 31st)
This family-friendly pumpkin patch has a haunted straw maze for spooky fun adventures, hay rides, and a petting zoo with bunnies, ponies, horses, peacocks, goats, and more.
Punk’s Pumpkin Patch – Delta (Sep 28th – Oct 29th)
Calling this experience a pumpkin patch wouldn’t be doing it justice, because Punk’s also has an obstacle course, a zip line, a huge inflatable slide, a petting zoo, playgrounds, and even a ninja course.
Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Offs
Jared’s Nursery – Littleton (Sep 28th) 10 – 4 pm
Join in on the fun for the 19th annual pumpkin patch festival and giant pumpkin weigh-off. There will be a bounce castle, a pumpkin drop, games, a maze, and vendors.
Nick’s Garden Center – Aurora (Oct 5th)
In addition to the giant pumpkin weigh-off is the annual fall festival “Running through Halloween.” There will be rides, music, a maze, and vendors.
Fort Collins Nursery – (Oct 12th) 10 – 3 pm
Check out their 16th annual giant pumpkin weigh-off and fall jamboree. Plus more fun for all with hayrides, kids activities, pumpkin bowling, and food trucks.
Smith Farms – NE of Colorado Springs (Oct 19th) 10 – 4 pm
Come check out the giant pumpkin weigh-off and join in on the fun. There will be “corn pool,” hayrides, live music, food trucks, and more.
Fall Apple Fests, Food Fest, Colorado Festivals
Chile & Frijoles Festival, Sept. 20 – 22
Pueblo’s annual Chile & Frijoles Festival (Sept. 20-22) celebrates all things green chile. Eat the fiery native peppers on a stick, in salsa, and wrapped in tacos. Then, sign on for the jalapeno-eating contest. The annual fest averages 100,000 Chile fans. Attending cooking competitions, a farmers market, watching live music, and more.
Estes Park Autumn Gold, Sept. 21 – 22
Picturesque Estes Park lures leaf-peepers to downtown Bond Park with its 24th annual Autumn Gold – Bands, Brats and Beer Festival (Sept. 21–22). The family-friendly gathering comes with face painting, bag toss games, a bounce house, rides in antique cars, and a fire engine. Buy a raffle ticket for a shot at $5,000. Dine on brats, roasted corn on the cob, funnel cakes, and sip craft brews while dancing to award-winning Colorado bands.
Applefest, Oct 13th & 20th
Head to YA YA Farm & Orchard in Longmont for Applefest (Oct. 13 & 20th) and join the historic century-old farm’s fall festival party. Chase the all-you-can-eat barbecue with apple cider donuts and apple pies. Visit resident draft horses, turkeys, and peacocks, listen to live bluegrass, and jump on a tractor-drawn hayride. Select your perfect gourd from the vine when YA YA’s famous pumpkin patch opens the first weekend in October.
Wildlife Fall Festivals, Nov. 9th
The Bighorn Sheep Festival (Nov. 9) in Georgetown brings folks to the mountains for hikes, music, crafts, children’s activities, and, of course, glimpsing the majestic head-banging bighorns. Pull off I-70 at the Bighorn Sheep Viewing Station and the Georgetown Gateway Visitor Center for guided wildlife viewings and talks, or add to the experience with a scenic train ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad.
