These holiday to-do’s span family fun runs and indie art fairs, Main Street cider strolls, and decked-out waterfalls. Wassail Days

Celebrating its 12th year, Wassail Days will warm you up with hot spiced cider served by businesses along Frisco’s charming Main Street. Get some holiday shopping done while popping into local businesses and sampling their secret Wassail recipe. Some merchants even set out trays of holiday goodies. Fill in your 12 Sips of Wassail Card and turn it in at the visitor center to receive a commemorative Frisco Wassail Days mug.

Buena Vista Christmas Opening

Colorado’s rafting and biking mecca transforms into a winter wonderland with its annual old-time holiday celebration. Santa is ushered into town by an Equine Parade and heads out to the North Pole that evening after the popular Parade of Lights. Festivities begin with a chocolate walk and a viewing of the movie Polar Express, followed by a chili cook-off and visits with Santa.

Winter Lights at Seven Falls

This series of seven cascading waterfalls rests near The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. The walking park and year-round attraction hit a holiday high note with a multi-colored light display that kicks off mid-November and runs through February. More than 100,000 lights outline the path to the falls, with colored lights illuminating the surrounding cliffs. Make a night of it with dinner reservations at Restaurant 1858 and pack the good camera—a full lineup of festivities among the glowing falls makes for dreamy holiday photos.

Elizabeth Christmas Tree Festival

Join the holiday fun and participate in the Mayor’s Tree lighting. Santa and the elves will be on site. Participate in the “New” North Pole Experience. Stop at the food truck plus more special activities.

This rural town southeast of Denver bursts with festive cheer the weekend after Thanksgiving. See Santa and his reindeer, visit the petting zoo, and hand-pick the perfect fresh-cut Christmas tree. The free event also features pony rides, train rides, face painting, balloon art, ornament crafting with Santa’s elves, and wine and food from local artisans.

When you’ve exhausted yourself at the holiday Christmas markets or need to take a break until the next one opens, now’s the time to feast on the holiday light shows, check out a holiday parade or buy tickets to a classic holiday show. Perhaps all the delectable holiday treats are adding some unnecessary weight. We suggest hitting the slopes to keep you charged this holiday season. The Nutcracker

What’s Christmas without a classic performance of The Nutcracker? Be swept up in the magic of the season as Canyon Concert Ballet returns to the stage this December. Join in the magical experience when Clara is transported to a world where toys become larger than life. Her beloved Nutcracker defends her from the evil Mouse King, and stunning Snowflakes dance delicately.

Don’t miss the Nutcracker VIP experience. Be transported to the Land of the Sweets, where you can meet cast members, snack on all your favorite holiday treats, and see the stage being prepared for the show while hearing about the history of the Nutcracker. This pre-show experience is held in our VIP lounge starting 1.5 hours before your performance. You will be treated to special guest appearances and yummy treats before entering the theatre to see the sets and learn about the Nutcracker.
