CRESTONE ARTISTS INVITE YOU TO THEIR CREATIVE SPACES!
A CREATIVE CRESTONE TRADITION SINCE 2005!
Our 13th Annual Open Studio Tour’s seventeen artists welcome you to their studios, noon to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th. All are invited to visit artists’ spaces, experience their art and discover about their creative processes and imaginative insights. This year’s Tour features a bountiful assortment of media and talent to amaze and excite the senses! Artists’ studios will be open and free to the public.
On Friday Oct. 3rd from 5-8 pm, the tour artists will hold a preview reception at the Baca Grande Library, located at 67581 County Rd T in Crestone. The preview art will be on display at the library from August 1st through October 5th.
The Open Studio Tour has been a Crestone tradition since 2005. This yearly opportunity is not to be missed! Come join us! Have a snack, share in the fun of creatively engaging and experience the love and passion that these artists put into making the ordinary extraordinary.

(1) Kary Kilmer’s shamanic approach to silver and goldsmithing creates jewelry pieces that are tools for healing, protection and transformation. (2) Allison Wonderland shapes mythopoetic storyscapes, shadow box tableaus and elegant gift ornaments. (3) Teresa Dunwell’s expansive mystical works are created in the Old Masters style of many transparent layers of handmade oil paints. (4) Alan Sutherland lovingly carves piñon, juniper, and other regional woods into lyrical sculptures. (5) Jandi Namba approaches the easel with an open mind, letting her intuition choose the palette. (6) Noah Baen creates painterly visions of human figures and imaginal landscapes that emerge out of a spontaneous dance with lines, color, shapes, and gestures. (7) Stephen Futral ( Ish) practices a “first thought” state-of-mind with encaustics, encaustic monotype prints, Japanese brushstroke, and mixed media. (8) Zuki Abbott’s studio, home and gardens are works of art and beautiful places to display art made from leather, wood, feathers, canvas and more. (9) Ziggy Eilets has won prestigious awards for his work. A gifted painter and photographer, he shares his life-long passion for astronomy and astrophotography. (10) Jeff Beard’s inspiration comes from classic Greek and Roman sculpture, creating figures that you could breathe life into. (11) Tom Rollings’s surreal landscapes are reflections of the spirit and emotions that come from the land itself. (12) Meredith Rose draws from her visionary experiences to make figurative oil paintings that are colorful, entertaining expressions of the Cosmic. (13) Stephen Austin’s exquisite, large scale paintings depict the sublime dynamic energy of the natural world. (14) Kim Roberts paintings capture the ineffable atmosphere of the Colorado landscape. (15) Fred Trompler expresses the breathtaking beauty of the scenery and wildlife around Crestone through oils and acrylics. (16) Shirley Motz’s passion for color and texture is expressed throughout all her mediums; from acrylic paints to felted fibers. (17) Leigha Nicole’s traditional Chinese painting and Western watercolors are powerful works made with confident, delicate brushstrokes.
A Studio Tour Kick-off Party, with music, food, and a door-prize drawing is at The Crestone Artisans Gallery on Saturday, October 4th, 11am -1pm.
