Underground Comedy Workshop: Learn Stand Up Comedy!

November 7 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Ever wanted to try stand-up comedy but had no idea where to start? Maybe you have jokes sitting in your notes app, want to get better at telling a story, or just think being funnier would be a useful skill to have.

The Underground Comedy Workshop is a six-week course at Denver Comedy Underground designed to teach you the fundamentals of stand-up comedy from people who actually do it.

No polished set or previous experience required. Whether you want to eventually get onstage, turn a funny idea into an actual joke, improve a business speech, or simply become a stronger storyteller, this is a place to start figuring out how comedy works.

LEARN STAND-UP INSIDE A REAL DENVER COMEDY CLUB
The workshop is taught by established comedy professionals who understand what goes into writing, developing, and performing stand-up.

Over six weeks, you’ll dig into the basics of comedy, learn more about what makes a joke work, and start developing the skills behind your own material.

And you’ll be learning inside the same Denver comedy club where touring headliners, rising comedians, open mics, and live Denver comedy shows take the stage every week.

If you’ve been searching for a way to learn stand-up comedy in Denver, the Underground Comedy Workshop gives you the chance to stop thinking about it and actually give it a shot.

SIX WEEKS TO WRITE, TRY THINGS OUT, AND GET FUNNIER
This session begins Saturday, November 7, with classes held at 2 PM every Saturday for six weeks.

Come ready to write, experiment, try new ideas, and get more comfortable turning something funny in your head into material you can actually use.

Maybe you leave ready to try one of Denver’s comedy open mics. Maybe you just get a lot better at telling a story without losing everyone halfway through it. Either way, you’ll have six weeks to learn more about stand-up and find out what you can do with it.

For aspiring comedians, curious beginners, and anyone who has always wondered what it takes to perform stand-up, this workshop is an approachable way to get involved in the Denver comedy scene and start learning the craft.
