Traditional Hawaiian Quilting: History, Characteristics, and Techniques

Traditional Hawaiian Quilting: History, Characteristics, and Techniques will be presented from 6-7:30 pm Tuesday, February 14, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures. Jean Krause, a Hawaiian quilter for over 25 years, will explain the significance of various Hawaiian quilt design elements. A native of Oahu, Krause will also demonstrate the creation of a traditional Hawaiian quilt. Admission to the program is $5 per person, and advance reservations are recommended at globalvillagemuseum.org/product/traditional-hawaiian-quilting-history-characteristics-and-techniques/ Light refreshments will be served, and registrants will enjoy free admission to the Museum’s four galleries prior to the program. Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley is hosting a time-honored event, now approaching its 56th year of holiday magic. The Gift of Home Tour is a beautiful Longmont holiday tradition. With a focus on charitable giving, making memories, and supporting local businesses, The Gift of Home Tour is Colorado’s largest self-guided holiday home tour. Homes will be “dressed up” for the holidays by decorators and decor stores, all with their own theme.
