NEVER GIVE UP DAY

NEVER GIVE UP DAY

The city of Loveland Proclaims Never Give Up Day. August 18 is officially Never Give Up Day! The city of Loveland joins community members in celebrating Never Give Up Day on August 18th, 2023. Never Give Up Day is a celebration focused on cultivating a mindset of determination and highlights the unbelievable power of individuals who simply refuse to give in to life’s challenges.
Never Give Up Day provides a common platform that inspires individuals and professionals to organize virtual and physical events to take place on a local or national scale. The Mayoral proclamation signals the city’s role in recognizing the importance of perseverance and encourages awareness-raising activities. On Never Give Up Day we praise those who have won and achieved great things, and we admire those who struggle and know no despair.

Run to the Shrine

Run to the Shrine

Join us on Saturday, May 20 or Sunday, May 21, 2023 for Run to the Shrine, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s annual fundraiser run/walk. This 4-mile casual run/walk winds through the Zoo and up to Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun, with giraffe, lions and elephants along the way. Enjoy stunning views of Colorado Springs below while ascending nearly 1,000 feet in elevation, before descending back down into the Zoo. Run to the Shrine is the ONLY time foot traffic is allowed on Shrine Road. Participants will start the ascent at their leisure, and there will be no official timing services.

The race is a great route for competitive athletes, weekend warriors, casual walkers and families of all ages. Jogging strollers equipped with tethers and automatic hand brakes are welcome!

Run to the Shrine registration includes evening Zoo admission until 8 p.m. and a commemorative performance T-shirt featuring our crowned crane mascot. All proceeds help feed and care for Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s animals. Since the Zoo is a nonprofit that does not receive any tax support, community fundraisers like Run to the Shrine help keep the Zoo “running.”

To register and get all the details, visit cmzoo.org/run. Registration is open now! Military and Zoo member discounts are available.
