SUMMARY:The Producers
DESCRIPTION:Bialystock and Bloom! Those names should strike terror and hysteria in anyone familiar with Mel Brooks’ classic cult comedy film. Now as a big Broadway musical\, The Producers once again sets the standard for modern\, outrageous\, in-your-face humor. It is a truly “boffo” hit\, winning a record twelve Tony Awards and wowing capacity crowds night after night. \nThe plot is simple: a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history\, thereby bilking their backers (all “little old ladies”) out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! The antics of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they maneuver their way fecklessly through finding a show (the gloriously offensive “Springtime for Hitler”)\, hiring a director\, raising the money and finally going to prison for their misdeeds is a lesson in broad comic construction. At the core of the insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends.

SUMMARY:Peyton Ruddy (Comics Unleashed\, LMAOF) Live at Denver Comedy Underground
DESCRIPTION:Peyton Ruddy has built a following with the kind of stand-up that feels loose\, quick\, and completely comfortable making himself the punchline. \nHis comedy is self-deprecating\, sharp\, and unapologetically honest\, whether he’s talking about himself\, the people around him\, or whatever has caught his attention lately. He has a way of leaning all the way into a joke\, especially when he is the one taking the hit. \nThat same personality has helped Peyton’s “my best work” videos reach a huge audience online\, giving people a steady supply of short\, ridiculous glimpses into his comedy. \nHe also reached a wider audience with an appearance on Kill Tony\, where his stand-up introduced even more people to the slightly chaotic\, very self-aware style that has become his thing. \nThe clips are only part of it\, though. Live\, Peyton gets a full room and a lot more time to see where the joke goes. \nFROM CHICAGO COMEDY TO AUSTIN\nPeyton started performing stand-up in the Chicago suburbs when he was just 17 years old\, giving him a head start on figuring out how to make a room laugh before most people his age had figured out what they wanted to do at all. \nHe worked his way into the Chicago comedy scene before eventually moving to Austin\, Texas\, where he has continued developing his stand-up and building a reputation as a young comic worth watching. \nHis credits include Comics Unleashed and LMAOF\, while his growing online audience has helped introduce his comedy to people well beyond the rooms where he first started performing. \nAnd somewhere along the way\, fellow comedians started calling him “cutesy wootsey fat shit.” \nPeyton embraced it\, obviously. \nThat mix of confidence\, self-awareness\, and willingness to make himself the target is a big part of what makes his comedy work. He usually knows exactly what the joke is – and gets there before you have the chance. \nMORE THAN JUST THE VIRAL CLIPS\nIt is easy to discover Peyton through a clip\, but stand-up gives him a lot more room to play. \nHis short-form videos capture the quick punchlines and personality that made people start sharing his comedy\, while the live show lets that same style stretch into longer stories\, sharper observations\, and whatever happens once Peyton has an audience in front of him. \nIf you have already been sending his “my best work” videos to your friends\, this is your chance to see what happens when he gets more than a minute. \nAnd if this is your first introduction to him\, even better. \nSEE PEYTON RUDDY AT DENVER COMEDY UNDERGROUND\nCatch Peyton Ruddy live at Denver Comedy Underground for a night of sharp\, unpredictable stand-up comedy. \nIf you’re looking for comedy shows in Denver\, stand-up comedy in Denver\, or checking out the comedians coming to Denver\, Peyton is one to have on your radar. \nDenver Comedy Underground brings touring headliners\, rising comedians\, and original Denver comedy shows to the stage every week.
