Electric Safari at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the only place in Colorado Springs where you can see over 85 one-of-a-kind light sculptures and enjoy photos with our larger-than-life illuminated inflatable animals while celebrating the season with our animals at the same time! Electric Safari was voted 3rd Best Zoo Lights in the U.S. in 2021 and 2020 by USA TODAY 10 Best Readers’ Choice. This year’s event will celebrate 32 years of holiday cheer, and Santa Claus will be listening to wishes December 2-4 and 9-23. Come celebrate the holiday season with sparkling lights, animals and fun for the whole family! For all the details, visit cmzoo.org/electric.Advance timed tickets are required for both members and non-members. Zoo member tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance. Due to the popularity of Electric Safari, times and nights may sell out in advance. Everyone visiting the Zoo must have their own advance e-ticket, including children age 2 and under. Sundance Film Festival Indigenous Short Film Tour

The 2022 Sundance Institute Indigenous Short Film Tour is a 91-minute theatrical program of 6 short films directed by Indigenous filmmakers, featuring titles from the 2022 Sundance Film Festival shorts program and from alumni of Sundance Institute’s Indigenous Program. Started last year as a virtual presentation in conjunction with our friends at museums, Native cultural centers, and arthouse cinemas, the tour will return in 2022 as an in-person exhibition. Featuring narrative and documentary shorts, the curated selection is a celebration of Native perseverance and an exciting look at a variety of inventive storytelling from Indigenous artists with Sundance ties. The Festival’s Short Film Program has a long history of supporting and launching talented Indigenous directors including Taika Waititi, Blackhorse Lowe, Sterlin Harjo, Sky Hopinka, Caroline Monnet, and Shaandiin Tome.

In Plain Sight: An art show benefiting Homeward Pikes Peak

Cottonwood Center for the Arts is pleased to present an exhibition in collaboration with Homeward Pikes Peak for the month of November. This installation is composed of works by local artists who have worked with Homeward Pikes Peak’s [In]Rich Art Studio program.“Homeward Pikes Peak empowers individuals and families to access stable housing, increase mental health, recovery, and economic stability. We create opportunity for individuals and families to restore dignity through treatment and recovery programs, mental health services, and providing housing first. We do this through sober living homes, a residential treatment center for pregnant and parenting women, permanent supportive housing, and clinical programs provided by a licensed staff.”The [In]Rich Art Studio is an open program that provides a creative outlet for those experiencing homelessness. Colorado Short Circuit Film Festival

The 6th Annual Colorado Short Circuit Film Festival will be held at the Ivywild School Auditorium starting 2:00 PM Friday, October 7th through 9:00 PM Saturday, October 8th.Over 60 independent Colorado-based films will be presented live and in-person. You can choose from individual film block tickets at $8 each, a VIP pass for $75, or a Saturday-only pass for $45. The VIP Pass includes full weekend access to all films along with a Friday night filmmaker meet and greet with appetizers included.Categories include Documentary, Horror, Sci-Fi, Comedy, Drama, Women in Film, Young Filmmakers, Experimental, Music Video, and Animation.After each film block, the filmmakers will get on stage for questions from the host and from the audience.The festival is brought to you by The Independent Film Society of Colorado, Peak Film Forum, and Indie Spirit Film Festival.For Ticket Information and a Full Schedule of all the films go to: csc.eventive.org
