Summer Time at the Ski Area

Nestled in the White River National Forest, Copper Mountain ski resort transforms into a summer vacation playground for the whole family. Popular attractions include:

The Rocky Mountain Coaster – Cruise through the forest on a tracked coaster. 5,800 feet long in fact and maxes out at 25 miles per hour. The longest North American alpine coaster. Something you don’t want to miss.

Copper Creek Golf – Experience golfing with the stunning Ten Mile Range backdrop. Outstanding service and prices that will keep you coming back. Season passes are available.

Mountain Biking at the Resort – A mountain biking paradise. From long rides into the Rockies to some of the best lift-service single track in Colorado. A Bike Haul is offered for those seeking more of a downhill adventure. Check out the cross country trails near Copper Mountain Resort. These trails provide access to spectacular trails throughout Summit County.

Popular Cross-Country Mountain Bike Trails:

  • Wheeler Trail – 10.3-mile point to point
    A classic alpine single track with several miles over 12,000 feet. It’s popular to start from the McCullough Road trailhead and end at Copper Mountain. Enjoy amazing views of Quandary Peak and Gorge Range along the way.
  • Colorado Trail – Copper Mountain to Searle Pass – 19.3 miles round trip
    Start right at the base of Copper Mountain and top out at 12,044 feet. Best during late summer when all the high-elevation snow has melted. Climb through alpine meadows with expansive views.
  • Friso 20 Loop – 19.9-mile loop
    A classic ride that connects Copper with Frisco on a mix of roads and trails. The loop combines sections of the Wheeler Trail, the Colorado Trail, and the Peaks Trail. Giving you a little bit of everything, including 3,000 feet of climbing.

A season full of hard work all comes down to USASA Nationals. USASA is a grassroots organization allowing kids and adults alike to grow and foster their love for snowsports. Across 33 divisions, the best of the best are chosen to compete at Copper for the title of National Champion. Watch ski athletes compete in halfpipe, slopestyle and skiercross disciplines.

USASA Rocky Mountain Division Rail Jam

Thousands of athletes around the country participate in the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USASA). This grassroots organization allows kids and adults alike to grow and foster their love for snowsports. The Rocky Mountain Division (RMS) holds various competitions at Copper, allowing for these athletes to earn points towards USASA Nationals in April, also held at Copper. This competition is held in Woodward Copper’s Central Terrain Park.

Courage Classic Bicycle Tour

Your cycling journey takes place July 21-22, 2018 with routes starting and ending in scenic Copper Mountain. Join a community of more than 2,000 riders for two days over picturesque Rocky Mountain passes. Through individual and team fundraising efforts, we’re hitting the roads to raise money for Children’s Hospital Colorado.

In 2020 we will only be able to offer 3 styles of sleigh rides, the Exclusive/Romantic small sleigh private ride, the Big Red Sleigh private ride, or the Scenic Hot Chocolate group ride.

Our Signature Dinner Theater Sleigh Ride which we hope to bring back to our offereings in winter of 2021 begins with a majestic sleigh ride ushered by Belgian Draft horses to a time when the West was wild and Breckenridge was young. Your destination, an 1860’s gold mining camp where the early Western frontier still thrives. Here you’ll meet 59ers, frontiersmen, maidens, and travelers from beyond, while the aroma of a hearty buffet and homemade apples pies enchant your senses.
