Take comfort in the triumphant warmth of Laura Mvula’s Sing to the Moon and Bob Chilcott’s The Shepherd’s Carol, which was commissioned for the 2000 Christmas Eve Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at King’s College, Cambridge. Our guest instrumentalist for this program is John Gunther, Professor of Jazz Studies at the CU College of Music, and Director of the Thompson Jazz Studies Program.

Join The Legendary Pink Dots (LPD) and Orbit Service for the first of two nights in Denver on their 2022 “The Museum of Human Happiness Tour” with The Drood, Mudwulf and DizyPixl performing live at The Mercury Cafe starting at 8pm.The Legendary Pink Dots (LPD) are an Anglo-Dutch experimental rock band formed in London in August 1980. In 1984, the band moved to Amsterdam, playing with rotating musicians and having, as core members, singer/songwriter/keyboardist Edward Ka-Spel and keyboardist Phil Knight. As of 2012, the group is composed of Edward Ka-Spel (vocals, keyboards, songwriter), Phil Knight (keyboards, electronics), Erik Drost (guitars) and Joep Hendrickx (live sound engineer). Although outside the mainstream, LPD have released more than 40 albums, have a devoted worldwide following, and tour frequently.Orbit Service is the long standing solo project of Colorado artist Randall Frazier. With deep ambient sound and melody punctuated by organic, measured beats and existential musings, Orbit Service creates a unique atmosphere described as “the sense of uncertainty as a powerful creative statement”.The Drood is an Electronic-Rock band from Colorado who pull creatively from the fringes of Post-Rock, Psychedelic, Shoegaze, Industrial and more. Their music conjures an other-worldliness intensity which seeks to speak to the soul; a fascinating overlap of mysticism and skepticism, inspiration and despair.

In 2017, he collaborated with Amanda Palmer on the album I Can Spin a Rainbow.Dead Voices on Air is Mark Spybey’s experimental and industrial project formed after his departure from Zoviet France. Spybey has collaborated with artists such as Not Breathing and cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy. This very special Denver show will feature new versions of songs that Mark Spybey has contributed to over the years: including songs from his work with Download, Beehatch and of course Dead Voices on Air. For this performance he will be joined by Denver based musicians Nathan Jamiel and Daniel Watts from the band The Drood.

Horsecapades is a professional performance of the largest precision drill riding group in the world. High speed, precision horsemanship in a dazzling array of costumes. Rope tricks. Flaming batons. Historical battle reenactments. Astonishing trick riding. All performed by young people who have chosen the road less traveled. While others take up more common sports and activities, the youth of Westernaires work year round at honing skills that represent the best traditions of the American West.A Glimpse of the Past. By attending the Westernaires Annual Show, you’re not only seeing a Wild West Show unlike any on earth. You also help support the work of generations of Westernaires volunteers endeavoring to equip the leaders of tomorrow. While character, teamwork and self discipline are an even bigger part of Westernaires than horsemanship, the horses’ feed, farrier and veterinary care come at a cost. Brooks Floral & Co. provides the cut flowers, pumpkins, floral cutters and step-by-step instructions on how to how to create a beautiful flower arrangement and how to care for them to make them last for weeks! Each of you will then have time to get hands-on with your chosen flowers from our flower bar and arrange flowers in a pumpkin! Wine, beer, non-alcoholic options, and snacks will be provided but feel free to bring a beverage or snack of your choice to sip while styling your chosen fresh flowers! Get ready to have some fun, meet new friends, and get creative from 6:00 – 8:00pm on October 20th!Tickets are limited and sell out quickly.
