German Identity After the Holocaust: Memorials and Monuments in Today’s Germany

German Identity After the Holocaust: Memorials and Monuments in Today’s Germany will be presented from 6-7:30 pm Tuesday, June 20, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures. Peter Erickson, Associate Professor of German in CSU’s Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, will explore Holocaust memorials in relation to German identity. Admission to the program is $5 per person, and reservations are available at globalvillagemuseum.org. The presentation is in conjunction with Deutschland Through Students’ Eyes in the Museum’s Main Gallery. The exhibit, which runs through July 22, is curated by German language students at Fort Collins High School. The Global Village Museum is located at 200 West Mountain Avenue, and Museum hours are 11 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Jean Krause, a Hawaiian quilter for over 25 years, will explain the significance of various Hawaiian quilt design elements. A native of Oahu, Krause will also demonstrate the creation of a traditional Hawaiian quilt. International Trivia Night

John Roberts, Fort Collins native and traveler extraordinaire, will host an International Trivia Night from 6-7:30 pm Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures. The fun and friendly event will feature some 50 questions, with teams of six competing for prizes. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is $10 per person, and advance reservations are required at globalvillagemuseum.org. Partial teams or full six-person teams are welcome with a two-step process. First, team members should make individual reservations. Second, an email with the names of team members must be sent to the Museum’s Outreach Coordinator at outreach@globalvillagemuseum.org. Individuals who register without a team will be joined with others on the night of the event. Registration will close at 5 pm Friday, Jan. 27.
