Golden Horseshoe Sleigh Rides

Experience Golden Horseshoe Sleigh Rides

Make your vacation unforgettable with a trip with Golden Horseshoe Sleigh Rides. Giant Belgium and Percheron draft horses pull sleighs through the beautiful White River National Forest in the Swan River Valley.  Stories of the areas wild and adventurous past are learned looking out at the site of what was once Parkville. Hot chocolate specially made for you, with a variety of toppings, and warm blankets to keep yourself toasty on our sleighs.

In 2024 we will offer 4 styles of sleigh rides, the Exclusive/Romantic small sleigh private ride, the Big Red Sleigh private ride, the Scenic Hot Chocolate group ride, and the mining camp sleigh ride.

Dinner Sleigh Rides

Our Signature Dinner Theater Sleigh Ride, which we hope to bring back to our offerings in the winter of 2021, begins with a majestic sleigh ride ushered by Belgian Draft horses to a time when the West was wild and Breckenridge was young. Your destination is an 1860s gold mining camp where the early Western frontier still thrives. Here, you’ll meet 59ers, frontiersmen, maidens, and travelers from beyond while the aroma of a hearty buffet and homemade apple pies enchant your senses. Bring the Colorado Gold Rush to life by stepping out of the city lights and seeing our stars at Golden Horsehoe Sleigh Rides.

Town of Frisco

Frisco, the Heart of Colorado

Frisco is located in the heart of Summit County, Colorado, within minutes of many world-class ski resorts. Originally settled by the Ute Indians, followed by trappers/mountain men, the mining industry, and eventually skiing, Frisco has evolved into a year-round outdoor recreation hub and relaxation destination for all ages. While it may look and feel charming, inside this town beats the heart of adventure.

Town of Frisco Colorado

Frozen Dead Guy Days

Every year on the first weekend in March, the town of Nederland celebrates some of its most peculiar history: “Grandpa” Bredo Morstoel, a man whose body is cryogenically frozen in a Tuff Shed in the town. The practice of freezing a corpse in a shed has since been outlawed in Nederland, but the celebration of Grandpa Bredo carry on every year, with icy coffin races, frozen wet t-shirt contests, frozen salmon tossing, and more.
