About Rifle Falls State Park
Rife Falls is located north of I-70, west of Glenwood Springs, and a spectacular destination indeed. The 70-foot triple waterfall with crashing water, misty clouds of spray, dripping moss, lush vegetation, and enchanting limestone caves will beckon your stay. The park’s unique and beautiful setting attracts photographers and even movie crews. The 50-seat Mountain Mist Amphitheater is a special place for weddings and events.
Hiking trails wander along East Rife Creek through trees and lush riparian habitat to an overview at the top of the falls, the caves beyond, and the Rife Falls Fish Hatchery. A flashlight is needed to explore the mystical cave and its towering 90-foot room! The creek is a popular trout fishing spot. The small campground has drive-in and walk-in campsites; reservations are required. Full-service camping is located nearby at Rifle Gap State Park. Due to the park’s popularity, especially in the summer, please plan and arrive early. — Back to All State Parks.
