About Connected Lakes

James Robb Connected Lakes are strung together alongside the Colorado River corridor. This section of the Colorado River is located a few miles west of Grand Junction  just across the river from Fruita. A string of pearls best describes the five sections of this park—The Colorado River, one of America’s greatest rivers, is the attraction here, and each pearl offers separate access and has its diversions and trails. Connected Lakes is a day-use area where visitors can boat, access the river, picnic, fish, hike, and watch wildlife. Five miles of trails wind around three lakes. Only hand-propelled, sailed watercraft and boats with electric motors are permitted on the lakes. Visitors can raft, tube, and canoe on the river or rent trips, lessons, and equipment from area outfitters. — Back to All State Parks.
